I'll be appearing at Georgetown Law School this Monday at 6PM to discuss my book and matters related to "Whistleblowing."
Most Americans, and citizens of other countries, want transparency in government. They expect their governments to be honest and to do the right thing. That is clearly not always the case. In the United States, government employees are encouraged to report incidents of waste, fraud and abuse, gross mismanagement, or incidents where there is a danger created to the public. Elected leaders and appointees openly encourage whistleblowing. But when people do step forward, they are rarely accepted with open arms. More often they are ostracized, or worse retaliated against. That makes the discussion at Georgetown one I look forward to participating in.
Remember: You cannot fix what you are not willing to acknowledge or talk about.
Stay safe and healthy!
